8.9.3.46 IfcPlane

8.9.3.46.1 Semantic definition

The planar surface is an unbounded surface in the direction of x and y. Bounded planar surfaces are defined by using a subtype of IfcBoundedSurface with BasisSurface being a plane.

{ .extDef}

  C = Position.Location
  x = Position.P[1]
  y = Position.P[2]
  z = Position.P[3] => normal to plane
and the surface is parameterized as: { .extDef}
formula where the parametric range is -∞ < u,v < ∞. In the above parameterization the length unit for the unit vectors x and y is derived from the context of the plane.

# Attribute Type Description
IfcRepresentationItem (2)
LayerAssignment SET [0:1] OF IfcPresentationLayerAssignment FOR AssignedItems

Assignment of the representation item to a single or multiple layer(s). The LayerAssignments can override a LayerAssignments of the IfcRepresentation it is used within the list of Items.

StyledByItem SET [0:1] OF IfcStyledItem FOR Item

Reference to the IfcStyledItem that provides presentation information to the representation, e.g. a curve style, including colour and thickness to a geometric curve.

IfcSurface (1)
* Dim IfcDimensionCount

This attribute is formally derived.

 3

The space dimensionality of IfcSurface. It is always a three-dimensional geometric representation item.

IfcElementarySurface (1)
1 Position IfcAxis2Placement3D

The position and orientation of the surface. This attribute is used in the definition of the parameterization of the surface.

Last change: Improve definition split (#876) * bring back headers headers were previously removed by mistake, now bringing them back * add new lines and rename the tag add the word 'short' in it * unify newlines make exactly one newline before and two after the tag * resolving typos Because bringing back headers required to go back in time to previous version, I'm now re-resolving the issues: #861, #860, #856 by ArturTomczak on 2024-07-16T16:07:28+02:00
